For two nights in June - and two nights only - you can enjoy a vegetarian feast in Paris. Created by Braden Perkins (the chef from ‘Hidden Kitchen’) and food writer Clotilde Dusoulier (‘Chocolate and Zucchini’), it will be served up in Bob’s Kitchen (owned by Marc Grossman) in the 3rd arrondissement.
The 10 course taster menu (with extra nibbles along the way) will rely heavily on fresh produce from local markets and planned highlights include Wild Asparagus with Marinated Tofu, edible flowers and Chipotle Powder. Organic and bio-dynamic wines will be supplied by Juan Sanchez from La Dernière Goutte. Service begins at 8pm on Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th June.
The idea for the meal came because Marc wants to include a dinner service at Bob’s Kitchen as well as offering lunch. Braden and Clotilde were looking for an outlet to showcase their talent with vegetables and so the veggie tasting menu was created.
For Braden the event is about the food, not animal welfare. ‘It’s less of an interest in vegetarians and more of an interest in vegetables’ he says. ‘Clotilde and I are huge fans of farmers and their products and we wanted an outlet where we could exhibit the multitudes of flavors and combination that vegetables represent.’
Places are sold out for the Sunday night sitting, but tickets are still available for Saturday June 25th. Email
