ImageOn Wednesday, December 15th, Sting will be returning to Paris, with a one-night "winter journey" featuring songs from his new album, "If On A Winter's Night...", a tribute to his favorite season. Sting will be joined in concert by his longtime friend, guitarist Dominic Miller, and an ensemble of musicians that include strings, brass, Northumbrian pipes, a melodeon, percussion and a metal string Scottish harp. In an interview with Rolling Stone, Sting describes the new album, saying "The theme of winter is rich in inspiration and material...By filtering all of these disparate styles into one album I hope we have created something refreshing and new." The evening will feature Christmas lullabies, including "The Snow it Melts the Soonest" (traditional Newcastle ballad), "Soul Cake" (traditional English "begging"-song), "Gabriel's Message" (14th century carol), "Balulalow" (lullaby written by Peter Warlock) and "Now Winter Comes Slowly" (Henry Purcell). Billed as a winter's journey in a single evening, Sting's night in Paris is one not to be missed.
