The Cabaret de Filles de Joie is a cabaret/ new burlesque revue with dancers, singers, musicians, acrobats and actors; their philosophy is to mix performance genres as well as audiences-- physically, mentally and socially. Their latest project to come to fruition is L'Ecole de Fille de Joie.  

"This project for opening a school dedicated to the art of cabaret has been bubbling for a long while," says Juliette Dragon, founder of the Cabaret de Filles de Joie and mistress of the new school  located at the Bellevilloise in the 20th arrondissement." It is open to girls who either plan to become professional performers or people who just want to take a class just for fun."

Classes (at an affordable 10-15E) include a basic modern jazz class for beginners and workshops teaching French Cancan, tap dance, make-up and strip tease. Students at the school have opportunities to get valuable performing experience and are guided through make up and costume along side the resident Filles de Joie professional group with occasional live performances at the Bellevillioise. Now with this unique new school, Paris can be truly a cabaret old chum... at least for an afternoon a week.
