A Medieval garden inspired by the flowers and beasts found in The Lady and the
Unicorn tapestry has just opened. Vegetables and herbs grow among
these vintage blooms, while didactic panels provide a key to
the plants that flourished during the Middle Ages. In this new
public space a silver reed fountain by French sculptor Brigitte
Nahon springs from a field of wildflowers, creating an impression
of calm on one of the citys busiest corners. The famous tapestry
and other treasures from the period are on view in the adjacent
Musée National du Moyen Age des Thermes de Cluny, open daily,
9am to 5:45pm, (entrance at the intersection of bd St-Germain
and bd. St-Michel), 5e, M° Cluny/Saint-Michel, tel: 01 53 73 78
