Rachel Mahler has created an installation that transports the viewer on a strange and fascinating journey. Tattooed walls and lighting effects create an otherwordly atmosphere.

Tahiti 1842-1848 recounts a segment of history while describing landscapes, people, everyday life and the colonial conquest of this paradise island through exquisite drawings by Charles Giraud, (on view till June 25). In another vein, “Secrets” is a major installation by Marc Couturier that honors the use of Churinga or sacred stones by Australian aborigenes. A moving tribute to one of the planet’s most ancient cultures.

Images de Pékin is a voyage in time back to the early years of the 20th century. These images from Albert Kahn’s archives preserve traces of an architecture and lifestyle that has almost disappeared. Haunting!
