Le Mois de l’Estampe à Paris Various aspects of printmaking — lithography, silkscreens, woodcuts, linotypes, stencils, typography — are represented at this biennial citywide June event. Now in its fifth edition, this time ’round, it kicks off with the vernissage of “Divers Cités,” an international expo subtitled “Paris & Bilbao, Buenos Aires, Copenhague, Florence, Mexico, Montreal, New Delhi, Palerme, Prague, Washington, Windhoek...,” hosted by the Ecole nationale supérieure des Beaux-arts. Li Zhensheng, Un photographe Chinois dans la révolution culturelle highlights 140 pictures taken by this photographer for the Heilongjiang Quotidian. Li Zhenshen’s awareness of the historic significance of current affairs prompted him to record the reality of reeducation camps, and the terror imposed by the Red Guard. This, at great personal risk. Altogether, an amazing document focusing on the Chinese Revolution. Nicolas de Staël A major retrospective of this engaging artist’s paintings, drawings, illustrated books and personal papers... The Pompidou Center’s chronological display constitutes an intimate portrait of the painter, as he moved from studio to studio. First in Paris, then in the south of France. Bresson Foundation The new Henri Cartier Bresson Foundation is an impressive showcase of photographic masterpieces. This debut exhibition highlights some of Bresson’s personal favorites, including prominent figures such as Lewis Hine and Joseph Steiglitz, along with Walker Evans, Robert Frank, Sebastian Salgado and Martin Munkacsi. Henri Cartier Bresson A major retrospective tracing the development of one of the key figures of contemporary photography. En Dalécarlie, Suède 1910 showcases 40 autochromes of landscapes and traditional themes connected with daily life, captured on camera by Auguste Léon during the summer of 1910.
