Francis Picabia This overview opens with early paintings with an impressionist feel, followed by Picabia's large abstract experiments that the poet, Guillaume Apollinaire, was to describe as "Orphic." The artist's Dada years dated 1915-20 are clearly its main feature — represented by an abundance of paintings, films and documentation that chronicle his prominent role in that unbridled movement.
